President Marylove Moy
Senior Vice President, 1st Mariner Bank, Baltimore, MD (Ret)
Marylove Moy joined the Board in 2015 assuming the Chairman position three years later. Her retiring from over 30 years working in the financial services world has allowed her to focus on serving WeAchieve (CHI), the agency which supports her two adult sons with intellectual differences. She graduated from Smith College and the University of Maryland Graduate School of Business. She and her family are active in their community and parish; additionally they love sports, travel and movies.
Past President John Pistolessi
USAF (Ret)
John Pistolessi joined the WeAchieve (CHI), Board in 2009. After a career as an Air Force officer, John retired and now works as a Department of Defense government civilian in the contracting and finance area. John had no related experience in the developmental disabilities field, but his first wife worked as a special education teacher before she passed away. Working with WeAchieve is his way of continuing her support for this community. John is a past president of the Board and continues to work as a member of the finance committee.
Vice President Cathy Lyle
I/DD Professional
Cathy Lyle joined the Board in 2016 after retiring from the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Council. At the Council, she advocated for policies and practices that promote the inclusion of people with developmental disabilities in all facets of community life. Cathy is currently Vice President of the Board and serves as the Chair of the Public Policy and Advocacy Committee. She has a keen interest in supporting people with developmental disabilities to be self-advocates
Board Treasurer Michael Rubin
Interim Executive Director, IMPACT Silver Spring
Michael has worked in the nonprofit and software sectors for over 30 years in a variety of direct service and management positions. He currently serves as Interim Executive Director of IMPACT Silver Spring and is a founding member of Resolve Financial Services Cooperative. He joined the agency’s Finance Committee in 2016 and joined the Board and began serving as Treasurer in 2019.
Dr. Stephen Friedman
DDS, PA, Community Member
Having provided dental care to individuals in the community served by WeAchieve (CHI), Dr. Friedman joined the Board of Directors in 2007 when he learned from one of his patients of a Board opening. Dr. Friedman is happy to give his support to this community agency. Through the years he has had the privilege to see firsthand the creative, productive, and limitless talents of the developmentally disabled in our community and those who serve them. Over the years, it has been quite a partnership! Dr. Friedman has been on the Board for 15 years, has served as chair of a special investigative committee, has served as Vice President of the Board, and is currently the Chair of the Quality Assurance Standing Committee.
Paul Hamilton
Self Advocate
Paul Hamilton has been supported by WeAchieve (CHI) for several years and has served on the Board of Directors since 2018. Paul has served as a peer mentor and is a tremendous advocate for himself and all of the people supported in WeAchieve’s programs.
Leslie Hertz
Administrative Officer, NIH
Leslie has been in the public health administrative field at the National Institutes of Health for 15 years, during which time she oversaw the budget formulation and execution of over $11 million in federal funds to support Intramural Research, most recently at the National Eye Institute (NEI)/NIH. In 2015, Leslie joined CHI’s Board of Directors, and became a member of the Finance Committee and the Board Nominating Committee. Leslie is the twin sister of a WeAchieve (CHI) day program participant, Robin Blitz, and brings her personal experience as a family member to her service on the CHI Board of Directors. She received a dual Bachelor’s Degree in History and Psychology from Syracuse University.
Nandhini G. Natarajan
Parent Advocate
Nandhini G. Natarajan has been a WeAchieve (CHI) board member for over a decade. Now retired from her long-time position as Cancer Researcher and Program Manager at Georgetown University, Nandhini currently writes and publishes poems, short stories, and novels. She and her husband live with their daughter Natasha, who has Downs Syndrome and has been a CHI participant since 2004. Their elder daughter lives with her family in North Carolina.
Lynn Richardson
Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System (Ret.)
Lynn Richardson joined the Board in 2011 and currently serves on the Nominating Committee. She lives in the WeAchieve (CHI) neighborhood and has a strong interest in supporting and advocating for the many people receiving assistance from the organization. She views her contributions as being in memory and in honor of two family members with severe developmental disabilities who were able to live happy and productive lives due to the support provided by agencies similar to WeAchieve (CHI) in other areas of the U.S.
Darlene Richeson
Parent Advocate; President/CEO, MaZie Global Solutions, LLC
Darlene Richeson is President and CEO of MaZie Global Solutions, which advises client leadership teams on advocating policy, stakeholder outreach, coalition building, and developing relationships with Congress. Darlene has served on the WeAchieve (CHI) Board since 2012. Her son, Tory Richeson, is a CHI participant and works in the Supported Employment program. Darlene also serves on the boards of National Caucus and Center on Black Aging, Inc. (NCBA) and ArtStream, where Tory is an actor.
Tammi Thomas
Vice President, TEDCO
Tammi Thomas is an award-winning communicator with more than 25 years of experience in marketing, technology, economic development, higher education, and entrepreneurship. She is Vice President of Marketing and Communications at TEDCO. She previously served as Director of University Relations and Marketing and later as the Chief of Staff to the President at Bowie State University. Her resume includes C-suite positions at the University of Maryland Baltimore County’s Research Park & Business Incubator. Tammi also has served as adjunct professor at Bowie State University and the University of Baltimore. She earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Alabama State University and an MBA from the University of Baltimore.
Eve Steinberg Wallace
Senior Vice President, American Bankers Association (Ret)
Eve Wallace joined the WeAchieve (CHI) board in 2019 and serves on two committees: Public Policy & Advocacy and Branding. Eve has an adult son with autism, and the family moved to Montgomery County, Maryland, to meet his educational needs. She served on the Montgomery County Council for People with Disabilities and in 2019 graduated from Senior Leadership Montgomery. A seasoned financial services marketing professional, Eve was the Senior Vice President responsible for professional development programs at the American Bankers Association. She holds an MBA in Marketing from Drexel University and a BA in Economic History from Hunter College.
Craig J. Zucker
MD State Senator
Craig Zucker has served in the Maryland State Senate since 2016. Prior to that, he served for five years in the House of Delegates. He is a fiscal leader in the Senate serving on the powerful Senate Budget Committee. Prior to serving in elected office, he was Deputy Chief of Staff to the Maryland Comptroller. He has more than 25 years of government and private sector experience.
Lawrence Skok, JD
Director Emeritus, Asst. General Counsel, MyEyeDoctor
Larry Skok has been on the board of WeAchieve (CHI) since 1998, recently moving to “Emeritus” status. Larry is an experienced real estate attorney, working in both firm and in-house environments. He currently is the Assistant General Counsel – Real Estate of MyEyeDoctor, a national optometry practice with over 850 locations. Larry joined the agency’s board before his daughter was born in 2001 and his son in 2004. Because his son, Cole, has Down syndrome, Larry has the unique perspective of serving on the board as both a non-parent and parent of an individual with special needs. He has served as President of the board twice during his tenure, and led the transition of the agency to the current administration. Larry continues in an advisory role and provides pro bono legal assistance whenever possible.
Aileen O’Hare
Director Emeritus & Self Advocate
Aileen has been an advocate for herself and others with disabilities since 1995. She joined the Board of Directors for the agency as an individual with IDD, though not receiving services from the agency. “I have much to continue in the enrichment of the Board and its mission in service to the agency,” Aileen says. She recently moved to the Chicago area to be near family.
